May Weather: Snowfall in the higher reaches of Kulgam district has resulted in damage to crops and orchards, as per reports, with a depth of up to 3 inches observed at different locations. 

Snowfall has also been reported in the higher areas of Shopian district and Pahalgam

Today, rain showers can occur in many areas of Kashmir region, especially in parts of south Kashmir, Ramban, Doda, and Kishtwar districts. 


In specific areas of central and north Kashmir and some parts of the Jammu region

there could be prolonged intervals between rain showers today (i.e., dry weather/no rainfall for several hours) 


The continuous downpour in south Kashmir may result in the escalation of water levels in streams and the Jhelum River

Today, it is better to stay away from Vishow Nallah in Kulgam district as it is expected to encounter a major rise in the water level
